I have been a total fan of Francoise Hardy since many years. I just saw the Barbarian Invasions at an International Film Festival. It ended with a song by Francoise that I know I possess but I wasn't sure of the title so I was trying to see if I could find a clue online & came across this site & I don't know why I was surprised, since she is undoubtedly just great, to see so many tributes. I wonder if anyone can tell me the name of the song I am searching for. 1 site talks of "L'Amitie" but it seems different than the one I remember in the movie.
The information is correct - the song from Barbarian Invasions is indeed L'amitié.

I am looking for a Françoise Hardy song on sheet music but so far I cannot find anything published.
The song I am looking for is "L'amour ne dure pas toujours".
I am a singer (student) (63 yrs old) and would like to sing this song as part of my repetoire.
If you know where I might be able to get this song please let me know.
Thank you.
Wendy-Lynne
Hello Wendy-Lynne, I'm sure I have the sheet music for this song. I will find it and send you a copy.

Cara Francoise,

I LOVE FRANÇOISE SONGS SINCE I WAS 16 NOW I'AM 55,THAT'S QUITE A LONG TIME.
HER BEAUTIFUL SAD LOVE SONGS ARE ALWAYS WITH ME. I ONLY REGRET THAT SHE ALLOWED MR. IGLESIAS TO RUIN "PARTIR QUAND MÊME" IN HER NEW ALBUM PARENTHÈSES. I WISH ONE DAY I'LL BE ABLE TO WRITE TO HER TO EXPRESS ALL MY ADMIRATION AND THANK HER FOR SO MANY BEAUTIFUL SONGS.
I ALSO THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS SITE.

It is nice to know that there are still people who listen to her music. Francoise has such a beautiful voice and her music is absolutely timeless. I grew up in Germany and remember seeing her on German TV when I was a teen.
I have to buy some of her music and play it to my children. Doubt any of the American music stores have any of her cd's in stock.

I have been a fan since hearing all over the world on radio Luxembourg way back in the 1965. Her music, her looks and her style captured my heart. To this day my French is crap but she speaks the international language of melancholy so fluently. I have struggled with my French dictionary to translate so many times only to find that I already understood.

Many years ago I purchased Francoise's 1968 LP, the one with the pencil sketch of her face on it. I almost wore out that LP I played it so much. Last year I bought the CD of that same LP and I realized how much I missed that LP. I now play the CD incessantly and I love it just as much as I did almost 40 years ago. I was born in Orange, France in Provence and I love to sing along in French with the songs on the CD. I just want to say "Thank You" for the years of pleasure I have enjoyed from your music.

Currently I play her albums everyday on my MP3 while at work, and all my colleagues, both young and old, have become big fans of hers.
Just saw her 2005 magazine cover, and she has matured like the very finest wine - still tres chic, tres elegant and very beautiful (my French does not go far!).

Hi, Just writing to thank you for this FANTASTIC site. I have searched on and off for several years, for lyrics/translations/books in the US, and can't believe it's taken this long to find your site! You have done an admirable job putting all of this together, and that you are willing to share it in such a forum is really amazing. She has had such an extraordinary effect on so many people. To see it all together like this has actually brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you for your comments, but I feel they are not currently deserved. The site was started with good intentions, and with the considerable help of many fans and friends, I managed to keep it regularly updated for several years. Unfortunately, I am now finding it more and more difficult to devote the time which it undoubtedly needs.

It appears I am the first entry for 2007. Happy new year to everybody. My first boyfriend introduced me to Francoise Hardy (in English) at the age of 16. I loved her music immediately. I listened to her so often that I luckily have every song (of the three albums) SAVED (in HER voice) in my head. These records obviously dissappeared throughout the years which can only be attributed to making the fatal mistake of introducing her to all my friends and aquaintances - her records became more difficult to find and naturally they could not resist the temptation. Who could? I am now 39 and her music still haunts me although I have none of her CDs. I simply can't find them. Is it ludicrous to ask if anybody knows where I can buy English versions? I speak German, English and Dutch, unfortunately not French.
Thank you for your site that allows us the opportunity to come together although oceans apart.

I was recently very happy to find out that Francoise is still performing.
I saw Francoise live in Johannesburg, South Africa back in the seventies and fell in love with her music and her enchanting presence.
Je vous aime, Francoise.
I have been able to dowload some of her recent music but have been unable to find any of her early works - such as "If we are only friends" and "All over the world". Anybody out there know where I can download the early works?

Do you think we'll ever see CD reissues of Francoise's Vogue or Reprise albums from the 60's? Why can't her records get the mastered-CD-with-bonus-tracks treatment that's happened with just about every other 60's pop star?
