As well as being famous for nails and "clog irons", Silsden is also now known as the home of Frankie Wainman (Stock Car Racing) and Dougie Lampkin (Motorcycle Trials).

The village of Addingham is about 3 miles north west of Silsden. The Addingham Village Information Website is well worth a visit.
